Position – Wall and Floor Tiler.
Annual Salary – $70,000 to $80,000.
Location – Winnellie, Northern Territory.
Employment type: Full time.
The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for preparing surfaces and installing wall and floor tiles across residential and commercial projects.
The role includes measuring and marking layouts, cutting and fitting tiles, applying adhesives and grout, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
The tiler works closely with supervisors and other trades to deliver projects efficiently and provides professional workmanship that meets the company's expectations for accuracy, durability, and finish.
Roles and Responsibilities
Determine jobs to be performed depending on plans / projects and other request sheets provided
Demonstrated knowledge of various tiling methods and materials
Proficiency in using tile-cutting tools and equipment
Make detailed measurements for layout using laser labelling, carpenter's square, string and other hand tools
Mark surfaces for layout
Prepare surface for construction; ensure the surfaces clean, smooth, dry and free of wax, soap scum and grease; remove all moldings, trims, old materials, appliances, etc.
Apply correct adhesives and mortars for a substrate ensuring proper bond
Set tiles in position and cut and shape tiles needed for planned area
Remove all the spaces after ensuring tiles lay out correctly
Grout joints refer to correct type for each installation
Scrap off excess and do clean up procedure
Qualification Requirements
Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent (desirable)
At least 3 years of tiling experience.
Basic construction safety knowledge (e.g., site safety induction).
Able to prepare surfaces (clean, level, waterproof).
Can work independently or with a team.
Reliable, hardworking, and pays attention to detail.
