Job Pathways is seeking a Community Liaison Officer to support meaningful engagement with Aboriginal communities and help strengthen employment pathways across the East Kimberley region.
This role plays a vital part in connecting jobseekers, community, and Job Pathways staff in a culturally safe and supportive way.
About the Role
As a Community Liaison Officer, you will support the development of strong partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities. You will act as a trusted link between jobseekers and case management staff, assist with culturally appropriate engagement, and provide practical support to help jobseekers access services and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a cultural liaison between Aboriginal jobseekers and case management staff
* Promote awareness of Job Pathways' services and support community engagement
* Support culturally safe consultation and two-way communication with community
* Assist jobseekers with practical support, including transport to appointments and obtaining identification
* Encourage participation in community and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) activities
* Accurately record client interactions and contribute to reporting requirements
* Provide feedback on community needs, concerns, and opportunities for service improvement
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working in community liaison, engagement, outreach, or advocacy role
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to consult, mentor, and liaise with diverse groups
* Demonstrated understanding of working respectfully with Aboriginal clients and communities
* Experience in remote or regional settings is highly regarded
* Experience in case management or employment services is desirable but not essential
What You'll Need
* Current C Class Driver's Licence (essential)
* National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain) (essential)
* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
