**DIVISION OVERVIEW**
**Transport Canberra and Business Division**
Transport Canberra ensures that buses and light rail are integrated with each other, and with other forms of transport including taxis and active travel elements such as cycling and walking, all of which makes public transport accessible for all Canberrans. The division also includes a range of
businesses that deliver essential services to our community. These include Libraries ACT, Canberra
Cemeteries, Capital Linen, Yarralumla Nursery and Birrigai.
**BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW**
Libraries change lives and Libraries ACT 's vision is Literacy and Learning for life. The library delivers traditional book based services as well as many learning programs and opportunities for the community to come together. Based across 11 sites, the library is integral to Canberra's literacy, self-education and learning, social inclusion, digital inclusion and citizenship. It is a vibrant service that is constantly re-inventing itself to meet emerging community needs and expectations.
**POSITION OVERVIEW**
The Branch Coordinator is a leadership role responsible for managing the day to day operations of the branch, ensuring excellent customer service through exemplary staff management and motivation, impeccable facilities and merchandising management, and the highest levels of customer service.
This position requires extensive liaison between Libraries ACT branches and operations, digital, lifelong learning, collections services and business administration areas, as well as with other businesses within Transport Canberra and City Services, other ACT Government directorates and external organisations.
The position supervises branch staff to deliver high quality customer service, efficient transactional processing, and the maintenance of collections and facilities.
Branch Coordinators also actively progress the strategic direction of Libraries ACT by participating in or leading working groups, drafting policy and operating procedures, presenting training on specific topics, etc.
This position reports to: Director Operations (SOGB).
This position supervises: Community Liaison Officers and Librarians (PO1), Library Branch
Supervisors (ASO5), Shift Supervisor (ASO4), Library Service Officers (ASO3), Library Assistants
(ASO2) and Shelvers (ASO1
