The role
Michael Page have partnered exclusively with Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation (WGAC) to recruit a Deputy General Manager (Finance) to join their team on a full‐time, permanent basis.
A proud Aboriginal Corporation, WGAC manages the Native Title rights and interests of the Wunambal Gaambera people. Due to an increase in volume of work, the team is now looking to expand and strengthen its corporate leadership function with this new hire.
Description
Reporting into the General Manager, the key scope of this role will include:
- Oversee the financial management and reporting processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting and finance team.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards.
- Contribute to strategic decision‐making and organisational planning initiatives.
- Oversee WGAC's Risk/Policy/Procedures framework implementation.
- ISO4500 and GSTC Green Destination accreditation.
Profile
A successful Deputy General Manager should have:
- Strong qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably within an Aboriginal Corporation.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- In‐depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the not‐for‐profit sector.
