In this role, you'll:
* Work as part of a focused team delivering safe, efficient, and reliable rail network operations for the Country Regional Network (CRN).
* Lead strategic initiatives and operational improvements that optimise rail network performance and enhance customer experience for the diverse peoples of NSW.
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement in rail network control systems, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements in a dynamic and complex environment.
* Oversee service provider performance, manage contracts, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver long-term sustainability and operational excellence.
* Apply your expertise in transport network management, systems operations, and stakeholder engagement to navigate complex challenges, deliver strategic outcomes, and implement best practices that improve efficiency and reliability benefiting the diverse peoples of NSW.
This permanent role will be based at the Newcastle control room and require occasional intrastate travel (approximately twice a year).

About you
* Recognized as a strategic thinker and collaborative leader, skilled at building relationships, managing contracts, and driving operational improvements, with experience in network operations, asset management, and service provider oversight.
* Extensive transport network management and systems experience, including operations, asset management, service provider oversight, and compliance.
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically and improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
* Proven stakeholder management skills with experience in collaborating with government, suppliers, and teams, ensuring contract and service alignment.
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
* Valid Australian driver's license and flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours.
