Our aim is to help people 'take life back' – to recover from injury and illness. We have been a not-for-profit provider for over 60 years and are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced team member for our members services team. Purpose of the role: As part of the Member Services team, the Senior Advisor will assist the Executive Manager and other staff of the Member Services, Marketing and Fundraising Department with the delivery and growth of our access consulting service and continuation of individual and systemic advocacy services. The position will be responsible for securing and completing access advisory/consulting engagements for organisation from third parties. The position will also play a key role in identifying and pursuing opportunities for grants. Duties of the role include: Assist the Executive Manager to grow the existing access consulting business within the organisation with a view to offering access consulting services to other organisations on a fee for service basis Engage with members and clients (customers) on individual advocacy issues and advocacy campaigns aligned with the organisations advocacy charter Network with customers, other areas of Spinal Life Australia and other agencies to encourage sharing of information and knowledge of interest to customers. Assist in the delivery of initiatives and activities under the "accessible tourism" area of activity. Liaise with customers and other community members to identify, verify and collate relevant data from their local communities for inclusion in Accessible Australia as development continues. Assist the Executive Manager and other staff with identification, writing and submission of opportunities to secure grants, sponsorships and donations for the benefit of the organisation What's needed to be successful? Qualified Access Consultant. Lived experience of spinal cord injury or physical disability or significant experience at working with people with physical disability Experience in networking with and providing information resources and advocacy services to customers Ability to operate under limited direction and undertake a range of functions for which operational policies, practices and guidelines need to be developed Experience and knowledge of advocating for and with others Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team High level interpersonal communication and stakeholder engagement skills Why do I want to work at Spinal Life Australia?
