Facilities and Maintenance Officer | Family & Disability Service Property team
Permanent full‑time role.
Location: Central office in Eastern Heights, Ipswich, with occasional travel to North Queensland sites and remote work flexibility.
Remuneration: Attractive salary + 12% super + Tool of Trade vehicle + access to up to $18,550 per annum tax‑free via NFP Salary Packaging.

Your Part in our UnitingCare Team
- Support the delivery of reactive maintenance in partnership with site managers for all FaDS buildings and facilities.
- Lead planned and preventative maintenance in partnership with operational teams for all FaDS buildings.
- Regularly review FaDS sites to ensure compliance with legislation, policy standards and accreditation criteria.
- Undertake routine audits to identify and resolve defects and safety issues.
- Estimate, scope, document, program and deliver project‑based works.
- Work with the Procurement team on vendor management and ordering of goods and services.
- Develop systems and procedures with site managers for effective reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Support FaDS Leasing Partners with maintenance and repair on externally leased buildings.
- Establish and update asset plans, building condition reports and lifecycle replacement plans for the area of responsibility.
- Monitor and report on budgets and financial outcomes for the allocated areas.
- Report and close out any Work Health and Safety incidents, near misses or preventatives actions in partnership with Insurance/WHS.
- Represent FaDS property during site and external audit activities.
- Maintain records relating to fire safety, statutory records, financial transactions and commitments, statutory inspections.

- Demonstrated experience in facilities or maintenance management and minor capital projects across a large portfolio.
- Experience in developing asset management plans and maintenance schedules.
- Understanding of building, building services legislation, regulations and standards.
- Understanding of workplace health & safety regulations and continuous quality improvement practices.
- Ability to negotiate with Maintenance Contractors and Suppliers.
- Effective interpersonal, written communication and stakeholder management; strong computer skills.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team with attention to detail and technical competence.
- High level focus on customer service.
- All FaDS staff must satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or FaDS policies.
