System Specialist Job Description
Overview of the Role:
* A System Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality systems and infrastructure to support Defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure systems architecture.
2. Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and technologies.
3. Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
4. Implement CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitLab Runners, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of Linux OS, automation, and administration.
* Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef.
* Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies.
* CI/CD pipeline experience using platforms like GitLab Runners, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
* Virtualisation and infrastructure knowledge, including VMware and Hyper-V.
* Understanding of agile and secure environments, with experience in SAFe, DevOps, Scrum.
* Cyber security awareness and familiarity with cyber operations.
* Ability to produce and review technical documentation.
* Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
