Principal Intelligence Analyst – Regulatory Intelligence, Data Management and Reporting team
Grade : Clerk Grade 9/10
Salary range : $125,693 – $138,510 + superannuation and leave loading
Duration : 1 x Temp up to 10 months, Full-time
Location : Hybrid opportunity based in Parramatta, in-office requirement 2-3 days a week.
About the team
The intelligence unit is a highly motivated and specialist team that produces complex and sensitive intelligence products to identify high risk regulatory and criminal activities. As part of NSW Fair Trading, we support investigations, prosecutions, and proactive operations to ensure that the NSW public, businesses and communities are protected.
About the Role
You will be responsible for a small team, as well as regularly undertaking planning, leading, and conducting operational intelligence analyses. This will identify priority activities and support risked based regulation to protect businesses and communities in NSW.
Your day-to-day
* Develop and support complex intelligence and analytics projects using predictive modelling, data interpretation and intelligence-based outcomes.
* Plan and deliver timely, accurate and outcomes-focused intelligence products and analysis to inform tactical, operational, and strategic decision making.
* Lead and mentor a small team while providing feedback to build capability.
* Develop and maintain collegial working partnerships with relevant state, federal and international regulatory/ law enforcement, and intelligence bodies.
* Provide expert advice to senior managers regarding current and emerging state and national issues that impact NSW consumers.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
* High level knowledge of intelligence and information management principles.
* Ability to lead, mentor and manage staff in an operational environment.
* Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders.
* Understanding of critical thinking techniques and operate within legislative requirements.
* Experience working with intelligence tools and systems (e.g. Analyst Notebook, Qlik).
Essential Criteria:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience.
* It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose you must be an Australian Citizen.
* Satisfactory criminal records check
* Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies
