We're looking for a strong team player and passionate talented engineer to join our team as afull-time Project Quality Engineer working on-site in our headquarter in Lonsdale, SA.
Key responsibilities include:
As a project quality engineer, you will provide quality support for the new product development to ensure new products are launched on time with good quality.
* Review existing quality and reliability data of existing / older generation products to inform the design and process of the new product (example: warranty information, previous internal or customer issues, sensitive process, DFMEA and PFMEA, etc)
* Take the accountability of supplier and customer PPAP.
* Represent warranty team in projects and ensure the proper equipment, tester, working instructions is developed for warranty purpose.
As a quality team member, you will provide quality support to operation and maintenance of REDARC Quality System including but not limited to auditing, reporting, inspection, evaluation, metrology, supplier non-conformance and evaluation, customer interface on quality matters.
* Support to quarantine management, ensure new project related quarantined items are dealt with in a prompt and appropriate manner.
* Ensure the materials used by REDARC, and products manufactured by REDARC meet specification such as undertaking new product related part evaluations on new or modified parts
* A central point of contact for manufacturing quality related queries/issues for new products.
* Assist in the tracking and improvement of Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI) across the business and give input in the company quality strategy.
* Identify and implement actions to negate and improve quality related issues and reduce non-quality related costs.
* Managing the quality auditing process (schedules / auditors / auditing / assigning actions / follow up on actions / training / reporting)
About you
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in either quality systems / inspection, metrology or engineering
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Experience in project management for new production development.
* A sound knowledge of ISO 9000, and IATF16948 quality systems.
* Experience in APQP, DFMEA, PCP, MSA and Process Control.
* Sound analytical skills and the ability to get to the root cause of quality issues
* Sound communication skills.
* A good understanding of mechanical inspection and electronics testing methods, procedures and mechanical tolerancing.
* Ability to read mechanical drawings, and undertake or analyse related metrology reports.
