We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of ICT Engineers on the world‑leading Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN). You will analyse, design and implement defined technical scopes within the JORN ICT Group, develop new projects and capabilities, and maintain and administer the existing system. The role is site‑based in either Adelaide or Melbourne, with flexible work arrangements such as a 9‑day fortnight.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day supervision, leadership and guidance to your team
* Manage the priorities and progress of system changes and activities to agreed timelines and schedules
* Assist the ICT Manager with strategic planning and contribute to team strategy
* Provide leadership and mentoring of one or more engineers
* Coach team members in the achievement of their development objectives
* Manage employee performance against defined objectives and behaviours
* Recognise training needs, skills gaps and high performance of team members
* Ensure all activities by your team comply with the engineering processes and procedures imposed by the relevant management plans
* Champion the use of 'Best Practice' processes and methods across the Programme
* Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to support the execution of ICT effort on the Programme
About You
* Experience working in an ICT environment including, but not limited to, Networking, Operating Systems and Applications
* A background in ICT or Systems Engineering and a good understanding of engineering practices and methods
* Experience leading and managing people
* Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology
* Able to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
* Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
* Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 clearance
* Adaptable and collaborative behaviours

Clearances
As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances. International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
