The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic role at Volvo Trucks offers the chance to work with leading transport brands – Volvo Trucks, Mack, UD Trucks and Volvo Buses – while shaping sustainable infrastructure. The position is based at our Volvo Commercial Vehicles dealership in Prestons.
What You Will Do
Your Day‐to‐day Responsibilities Will Include
* Steering and suspension repairs
* Electrical faults diagnosis andgeries
* Braking systems diagnosis and repairs
* Component overhauls
* Driveline repairs
* Preventative maintenance services and repairs
* Off‐site and breakdown repairs
Your Future Team
This role reports to the Workshop Manager and works alongside között a team of mechanics, auto‐electricians, apprentices, parts interpreters, service advisors and costing clerks. The dealership prides itself on an inclusive and stable work environment.
Who Are You?
* A heavy‐vehicle mechanical qualification
* Experience working with Volvo, Mack, UD or other European truck or bus brands (highly regarded)
* Some exposure to light auto‐electrical work
* A pro‐active attitude and drive to work efficiently
* A positive safety attitude with a team‐focused mindset
