About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support participants to live independently, build skills, and engage in their community. We offer flexible shifts across in-home care, community access, personal care, capacity building, and transport.
We are currently recruiting for:
•Support Workers
Responsibilities:
•Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household
tasks
•Support individuals in accessing community activities, employment opportunities, and social events
•Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, well-being, quality of life and self-determination
•Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
•Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
•Assist with medication and monitor health conditions
•Develop and implement individualized care plans
•Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
•Uphold professional boundaries, privacy, and safety standards
•Maintain accurate records and documentation
Requirements
•Experience working in disability support or a related field
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
•Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
•Willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities
•Experience working with individuals with disabilities
•Compassionate and patient demeanor
•Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
•Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
•Understanding of NDIS requirements, safeguarding, and person-centred practice
•Unrestricted driver's license
•Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
•Smart Phone
Essentials
•This is a risk-assessed role and requires the following checks, clearances and training (or willingness to obtain):
•NDIS Worker Screening Check
•Working with Children Check
•Recent National Police Check (no more than 12 weeks old)
•First Aid and CPR Certificate
•Manual Handling Certificate
•All mandatory NDIS training modules
Qualifications
•Certification in disability support or related field preferred
•Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent (highly regarded)
