Food Coordinator / Assistant Educator – East Cannington ELC
We're on the lookout for a part‐time Food Coordinator who takes pride in creating nutritious magic! You'll hold a Certificate III and be keen to work primarily as a Food Coordinator, with the flexibility to pick up shifts as an Assistant Educator on the floor when needed—perfect for adding some variety to your day.

What you'll be doing
As the door opens at our multicultural centre you will notice large nature based play spaces and a warm home‐like learning environment, in a quiet suburban area. Welcome our children and families with a smile. You'll get creative with your menu plans, embrace those special dietary needs, maintain the H&S standards, and work your magic for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Never fear, you're not alone. Your fellow team members will always be keen to help.
As an Assistant Educator, you'll work collaboratively with our Educators, to ensure our children enjoy a safe, hygienic, and inspiring space to learn and grow. You'll promote YMCA's values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and care, maintain high quality programs, manage compliance, and truly engage with our wonderful children and families. At the end of your shift, you'll walk out the door, still smiling, knowing the children are continuing to develop in body, mind, and spirit.
You'll be great in this role if you...
* Are passionate about healthy & nutritious food for children.
* Are bright, friendly and energetic.
* Hold (or willing to obtain) the Food Safety Supervisor qualification.
* Hold an "I'm alert in Food safety and Food Allergy" certification (preferred).
* Hold a Cert III in Early Childhood Education.
* Can obtain a National Police Certificate and Working with Children card.
* Have childcare cooking experience or similar, (desirable but not essential).
* Menu planning experience (preferred).
* Are available to work during school holiday periods.
