About the role
The 24-bed acute general medical ward operates 24 hours 7 days a week and manages patients with general acute medical conditions and provides patient and family centred environment that facilitates timely, appropriate, consistent assessment, investigation, and treatment. The ward works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient centred care and ensures that the care is holistic, engaging, compassionate and meets the individual patient needs.
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Advanced clinical knowledge in the area of general acute medical nursing delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
* Ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
