South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services are aimed at producing a safe and peaceful environment by the minimisation of crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation which, because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24 hour a day basis.

Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk, and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives.

This full portfolio has been broken into three sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes including the Mobility Portfolio, in which this position is located.

The Mobility Portfolio is responsible for the delivery of 2 flagship Programs; the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP), which is focused on delivering personally issued mobile devices provisioned with full frontline capability, and the Digital Workforce Program (DWP), which will rollout digital innovation across SAPOL. Together, these programs represent an enterprise multi-year technology transformation program that will usher in SAPOL's future workplace and deliver IT solutions for next generation policing.

Your new role

The Lead Developer will report to the Digital Delivery Project Manager within the Mobility Portfolio and will provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on continuous improvement. The role involves

* Defining and implementing consistent SDLC processes
* Designing and developing K2 workflows
* Ensuring high performance, scalability, and security of applications
* Working closely with business, designers, and other developers to understand requirements
* Delivering high-quality solutions

What you'll need to succeed

* Lead by example through delivery of exemplary technical expertise and hands-on development
* Proven experience in software development including secure coding practices
* K2 Platform (Nintex Automation) design and development expertise
* Designing and programming customised software to meet defined requirements
* Implementing processes and procedures, in alignment with SDLC principles
* Highly developed analytical skills and a high level of written/verbal communication
* Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience providing mentorship and leadership to a team of developers.
* Strong knowledge of SDLC including quality and release management and the ability to incorporate UX principles into design and delivery.

Salary

ASO7 - $108,109 - $116,864 per annum.
