Social Worker
Part‐time and temporary role (0.6) at St Denis School in Joondanna, WA, and Our Lady of Lourdes School in Nollamara, WA. Expected to begin 11 May 2026 and continue until the end of the 2026 school year, with responsibilities evenly split between the two schools.
Responsibilities
* Work professionally and cooperatively with the leadership team and staff.
* Provide counselling to students and families; experience with young people and families is desirable.
* Assist with referrals to outside agencies.
* Develop positive, trusting, and professional relationships with staff, students, and families.
* Promote well‐being throughout the Our Lady of Lourdes and St Denis communities.
* Conduct whole‐class workshops and deliver classroom programs to support teachers.
* Offer pastoral care to staff.
* Maintain case files and records.
* Respond to crisis situations such as mental‐health and child‐abuse emergencies.
* Develop plans and strategies to improve students' academic performance and social development.
Qualifications
* Appropriate tertiary qualification; preferably a degree in Social Work or a related field.
* Knowledge of programs such as Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum, URSTRONG, Berry Street Education Model, and Kimochis is highly desirable.
Background Check Requirements
* Current National Police History Check issued by the Department of Education Western Australia.
* Working with Children Check upon appointment.
