Overview
Corangamite Shire Council is seeking a Plumber to ensure efficient, timely and cost-effective plumbing services to Council owned and controlled facilities.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking building maintenance and repair tasks to Council's buildings and facilities in accordance with the annual program, Council's and industry specifications and standards.
* Ensuring projects are carried out safely, in accordance with Council's and industry specifications and standards with regard to employee and public safety.
* Assisting with the preparation of the annual building and facility maintenance program, including conducting building audits to identify maintenance/capital works priorities.
* Checking, maintaining and operating equipment in accordance with Council procedures, safety and manufacturer's standards.
* Providing regular progress reports on projects.
* Undertaking project planning activities for specific building construction and major maintenance projects, including providing technical input, estimating material quantities required for projects, identifying job time frames and obtaining sub-trade quotations.
Qualifications
* A relevant trade certificate and related practical experience.
* Sound knowledge of plumbing practices, with the ability to produce quality outcomes.
* Knowledge of building codes of practice and the ability to read/interpret plans.
* Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures, particularly related to buildings and building works.
* Basic written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with other staff, contractors and the public.
* A current Victorian Driver Licence, Construction Induction Card, National Police Check and Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
