The laboratory delivers a 7-day a week/24 hour service. In this workplace, all newly appointed staff may be required to work weekends and public holidays, including overtime as required. In the future, you may be required to take part in a 24-hour continuous shift roster, and will work a combination of day, afternoon and overnight shifts within each fortnight. Key competencies (role specific criteria): You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: * Experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical processes, e.g. sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, etc. in the specimen reception unit. * Demonstrated data entry skills with the ability to work accurately and give attention to detail. * Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace. * Proven ability to manage time effectively and work without direct supervision. * Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and communication skills to enable effective interaction within a work group and between clients (internal and external). * The Central Specimen Reception unit delivers a 7-day a week service.
