The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) is a leading provider of comprehensive primary health care services to the Indigenous population of South East Queensland.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our team as a Birthing & Early Childhood Nurse Educator.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support to parents and carers of infants and young children to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing.
* Deliver comprehensive home visiting service to women pregnant with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby and their families in partnership with a Family Partnership Worker.
* Assist families' transition and encourage continued engagement with their local medical service throughout their involvement with the Hub.
* Build and maintain relationships based on trust, support and growth with eligible women, their families, team colleagues and community members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Ability to demonstrate good clinical skill; maintain therapeutic boundaries and be aware of your own clinical knowledge and skill and committed to own personal and professional growth.
* Demonstrated ability and experience in working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Current Criminal History Check or willing to access one.
* AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse or Midwife).
* Maternal and child health interest and experience.
* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
