We are seeking applications for a Leading Hand/Team Lead- Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop Team based in Humpty Doo.
Working within a small, close-knit team, this hands-on role is responsible for the servicing, repair, and maintenance of heavy vehicles, including fault-finding and diagnostics to minimise breakdowns and reduce downtime. As a Leading Hand, you will also support day-to-day workshop operations by providing guidance to team members and working closely with workshop leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

About You
Qualifications
* Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic
* Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience
* MR licence with H endorsement (desirable)
* Working with Children Clearance (desirable)
Experience
* Diesel mechanical experience across Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Toyota vehicles
* Use of diagnostic scan tools
* Basic auto-electrical experience
* Air-conditioning servicing (desirable but not essential)
* Conducting vehicle inspections and scheduled maintenance, preferably on heavy vehicles
* Forklift licence (desirable, not essential)

* Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
* Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think laterally
Knowledge
* High-level knowledge of engines, transmissions, and differential components
* Sound understanding of electrical systems
* Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
