Social Skills Mentor
The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a skilled and passionate professional to fill the position of Social Skills Mentor. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to supporting students in developing strong social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes and refer them to appropriate support services.
* Maintain records of student contact on a daily basis.
* Support students to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes.
* Develop and monitor post-program support as required to meet program performance criteria.
* Foster relationships between schools and families of students to assist at-risk students to remain engaged with education or training.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, education).
* Experience working with at-risk youth.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This part-time position involves working 43.5 hours per fortnight for a period of 6 months unless otherwise determined. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Working with Children Clearance check.
