Title: Founding Clinician (Telehealth) – Medly (Australia)
Location: Remote (Australia)
Commitment: 10 hours/week (consulting as two 5-hour blocks)
Start: Rolling
About Medly
Medly is an Australian telehealth platform in launch phase, building a clinically defensible, pathway-driven patient experience with strong governance, low-friction documentation, and clear escalation rules. We are ruthless in our ambition to improve the safety and affordability of healthcare for Australians. This is a "founding" clinical role with meaningful influence on how the product and clinical governance systems mature.
The opportunity
You will be part of a small core team providing rostered telehealth coverage and helping shape Medly's safety standards, clinical workflows, and clinician experience. The role suits a doctor who is calm under uncertainty, comfortable with iteration, and interested in how technology can improve the quality and safety of remote care.
What you'll do Clinical
* Provide telehealth consults during two rostered 5-hour blocks per week (10 hours total).
* Apply clear escalation pathways and safety-netting, and use telehealth appropriately.
* Maintain high-quality, defensible documentation and follow-up actions.
Governance
* Improving clinician and patient safety (hard stops, escalation triggers, prescribing guardrails)
* Incident register and incident triage/closure
* Governance and clinical policies/documentation (versioned standards)
* Auditing and quality improvement cycles
* Clinical innovation (AI/new tech pilots, workflow tooling, clinical UX)
Product contribution
* Provide concrete feedback on the clinician consult screen to reduce friction and improve safety.
* Participate in a short recurring governance and product review cadence.
Compensation
* Doctors are paid a per-consult revenue share (no salary/retainer).
* We aren't looking for a perfect CV.
* AHPRA general registration (no restrictions or conditions preventing independent practice).
* +2 years practising independently post-general registration.
* Professional indemnity insurance.
* Comfortable practising to clear telehealth standards, including escalation and safety-netting.
Preferred
* Non-medical postgraduate qualifications (eg MBA, MPH, MSc, JD, MEng, data/analytics degrees) or working towards non-medical postgraduate qualifications.
* Interest in technology, product design, ML, AI, automation, coding, or clinical informatics.
* Experience in quality improvement, clinical governance, audit, or digital health.
What makes this role different
* Real influence on clinical governance and workflow design at the start, not token "advisory" input.
* A practical rostered model, not vague "be available" expectations.
* A platform being built with version-controlled Clinical Standards, auditing, and escalation pathways as first-class features.
* Clear career progression in clinical and non-clinical roles as the standard, not the exception.
