Lead strategic infrastructure, engineering, and asset management services within Victoria’s largest regional and most dynamic healthcare organisation.
About the role This position leads multidisciplinary teams of Facility and Engineering services across all of Barwon Health. Responsible for the successful leadership of operational activities pertaining to Building Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, Clinical Engineering and the optimal utilisation of Buildings and Assets. Imperative in achieving these goals is the provision of high‑level strategic advice to executive to respond to current and future needs of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic management of Building Infrastructure and Engineering Services, including facilities, engineering, asset management, and operational delivery to support high‑quality healthcare outcomes.
Develop and implement long‑term infrastructure, maintenance, and asset management plans, ensuring compliance with legislative, accreditation, and safety standards across all sites.
Oversee operational performance, budgets, maintenance programs, contracts, and on‑call services to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and reliable facility and engineering services.
Manage, mentor, and develop staff and contractors, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative workplace culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
What we’re looking for
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Facilities/Asset Management, Project Management, Commerce (MBA), or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in strategic asset, facilities, and engineering management.
Proven experience delivering maintenance, capital works, and construction programs within complex, multi‑site healthcare or similarly complex environments.
Strong knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM), contemporary building and engineering systems, employment/industrial frameworks, and WHS legislation.
Highly developed leadership, stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and multidisciplinary team management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and organisational complexity effectively.
