Randstad Senior Finance is excited to partner with a successful and established company in Melbourne's Tullamarine. Our client is a leader in their field, seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for their Finance Team.
Your New Role
As Financial Accountant, you will manage the month-end process for timely financial reporting to the parent company. You will plan, review and administer accounting systems and procedures, provide cost performance insights, and lead a team of eight direct reports.
* Staff Management: Lead and review the workflow for two Assistant Accountants, three Purchasing Coordinators, an Accounts Payable Officer, a Credit Controller, and a Receptionist.
* Month-End/Year-End Close: Drive end-of-month completion by the 5th working day, reviewing GL reconciliations, sales and COGS matching, and posting balance sheet journals.
* Statutory Compliance: Prepare and lodge BAS for multiple companies, FBT, Payroll Tax, and Co-Invest lodgements.
* Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports, investigating anomalies, and creating quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets for US reporting requirements.
* Cash Flow & Assets: Prepare weekly cash flow analysis, manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation, and oversee biannual van stocktakes.
* Payroll: Review fortnightly payroll, reports, and reconciliations.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed, be a qualified and experienced leader with exceptional technical skills, holding:
* An Accounting Body Qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent).
* Proven experience in broad financial accounting roles, covering AP, AR, GL reconciliations, BAS, fixed assets, and management reporting.
* Demonstrated staff management experience is essential.
* Strong planning, time-management, and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* The resilience to work under pressure, meeting tight corporate deadlines.
* Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office application skills.
