Why This Role? As Sterile Services Manager, you’ll step into a leadership role that combines technical expertise with people-first management. You will: Lead and inspire a team of 16–20 Sterile Services professionals Champion best-practice sterilisation in line with AS/NZS 4187:2014 Drive performance improvement and quality assurance across all reprocessing functions Collaborate with Theatre & Clinical leaders for seamless surgical support Mentor and coach your team — fostering training, growth, and professional excellence Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, sterilisation, and documentation Oversee staffing, rosters, and performance to ensure safe, effective services Lead internal audits and compliance with infection control standards Contribute to strategic planning and continuous service improvement Champion excellence across the perioperative environment What You’ll Bring 5 years’ experience in a hospital Sterile Services Department 2 years’ leadership/supervisory experience NZSSA Certification in Sterilising Technology (Level 4 or above) Strong knowledge of sterilising technologies, equipment validation, and infection control A coaching mindset and calm, organised leadership style Computer literacy and (ideally) experience with loan instruments & tracking systems What’s In It For You?
