We work in partnership with people and families who need individualised support services due to disability, ageing or mental ill-health.
The Individualised Community Living Strategy (ICLS) team are looking for Recovery Mentors, with experience in Mental Health to support customers in Fremantle. Our ICLS program is focused on identifying and building on the strengths of our customers to enhance their recovery and meet their individual needs. Due to the complexity of the work we require applicants to have the skills and knowledge of a sophisticated recovery practice.
There are no 'typical days' but it may include
* Offer practical support for individuals to manage & maintain their tenancy
* Social support including assistance with community access and attending appointments
* Intensive recovery focused support for those living with complex mental ill health
* Providing reliable, timely and flexible services that best meet the needs of the individual and their family
* Problem solving issues with the person and/or their family, and the team
* Regular communication with local team and participation in team meetings
On the job training and buddy shifts are provided to the successful candidates.
You'll need:
* A valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle (essential)
* Certificate IV in Mental Health or working towards this
* Previous experience in the Mental Health sector and supporting people in recovery
* Ability to facilitate people to develop and sustain their own social connections and relationships
* Good understanding of strength based practice and how to apply it
* Excellent communication skills and a can do attitude to help ensure our customers receive flexible and individualised support
* Availability to attend mandatory and paid training during the week
* Current NDIS Worker Screening check or willingness to obtain one
* Flexible availability to provide supports Monday to Friday.
