Position Overview:
The General Practitioner (GP) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the local Maryborough community. As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the GP will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of health conditions across all age groups, with an emphasis on continuity of care and preventative health.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive general medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Promote preventative health strategies, screening, immunisations, and health education tailored to patient needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, history-taking, and ordering and interpreting relevant investigations.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals, nursing staff, specialists, and external providers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records in accordance with RACGP and AHPRA standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Provide support for the education of medical students, registrars, or interns, if applicable.
- Uphold a commitment to culturally safe and inclusive care, especially in serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and communities.

Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner (FRACGP or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in general practice, with strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
- Current CPR certification and professional indemnity insurance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
Desirable:
- Experience working in rural or regional communities.
- Interest or additional training in a specialised area (e.g., skin, women’s health, chronic disease management).
- Familiarity with Best Practice or similar clinical software.
- Eligibility to supervise registrars or medical students.
