Overview
Permanent full‐time English teacher position at Eaton Community College, commencing Term 3, 2026. The role is part of a growing secondary school dedicated to high‐quality teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum for secondary students.
* Differentiate learning activities to meet diverse developmental and literacy needs.
* Create a safe, purposeful, and accountable classroom environment where students feel supported to improve.
* Use explicit instruction and evidence‐based practice to foster strong literacy skills and critical thinking.
* Collaborate with the Learning Area team on curriculum development and whole‐school improvement initiatives.
* Reflect on practice, analyse student performance data, classroom observations and feedback to continually refine teaching.
* Maintain effective communication with students, parents and colleagues through respectful, positive relationships.
* Adopt inclusive teaching strategies that support all learners.
Qualifications
* Holder of a teacher qualification and registration appropriate for secondary education.
* Experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English is highly desirable.
* Strong classroom management skills and effective interpersonal communication.
* Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practices and cultural responsiveness.
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or visa holder with work rights for the term of appointment.
* Completed a WA Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
* Obtained a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and current Screening Clearance Number before starting.
