Junior System Administrator
We are seeking a Junior System Administrator with strong technical capability and a disciplined approach to data and integration management.
You will administer and validate the data flows that support an online distribution platform, ensuring accuracy across multiple systems.
This is a hands-on role involving APIs, XML structures, store onboarding, vendor coordination, and general IT support.
You will work directly with commercial managers, developers, and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment across the program.
This role will expand over time.
As our technology stack evolves, you will gain exposure to additional AUR platforms including loyalty, e-commerce, and store technology systems.
The position provides a genuine pathway to owning technical products end to end and becoming the subject matter expert across several nationally impactful platforms.
Key Responsibilities
API and Data Integration
Monitor, validate, and troubleshoot REST and SOAP integrations.
Read and interpret XML data files and identify structural or schema deviations.
Escalate and document integration issues with clear business impact.
Store Onboarding
Own the end-to-end technical onboarding process for new stores.
Ensure data loads, configurations, and checks are completed on time and to standard.
Stakeholder Communication
Translate technical errors and data mismatches into clear language.
Provide structured reporting and updates.
Knowledge Management
Maintain onboarding documentation, technical guides, and process references.
Develop repeatable procedures to improve data quality and reduce effort.
Operational Support
Support internal users with IT, telecommunications, broadband, and data cleansing tasks.
Security and Compliance
Apply secure handling of data and enforce best practice.
Business Alignment
Ensure technical decisions support customer experience, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Future Platform Support (Growth Pathway)
Contribute to AUR's loyalty platform.
Support e-commerce integrations and internal store technology systems.
Build capability to eventually own and administer key technology products across the organisation.
Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of APIs, particularly REST and SOAP.
Ability to read, edit, and troubleshoot XML structures.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to convert technical findings into business impacts.
High attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in IT or Computer Science.
Experience in retail or store systems.
Basic SQL knowledge.
Familiarity with project management tools and structured workflows.
