Therapeutic Youth Worker - Wollongong
role at MacKillop Family Services. We are on the lookout for a compassionate, enthusiastic Youth Worker to help make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Program. This is a part-time opportunity based in Wollongong. You will be flexible to work days, nights, weekends and sleep over shifts.
What Your Day Would Include
Mentor and engage young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth.
Role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
Empower youth by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.
Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.
Safeguard wellbeing by reporting any concerns to ensure they're safe and supported.

What You Bring
A Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work or a related field; Minimum Cert IV in Youth & currently working towards completion of a diploma.
Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency.
A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.
Must Have Or Willing To Obtain
Valid and current Driver's Licence
Valid and current Working with Children Check
Valid and current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (MacKillop will pay for this)
