The Role
We are looking for an individual who can lead, manage and continuously improve Mount Isa Acid operations.
Core Accountabilities Include but are not limited to:
1. Lead the development of a mindful, challenging, just leadership culture and embed core HSE behaviours and attitudes throughout the operation for the achievement of zero harm
2. Lead, develop and maintain a high performing team by ensuring that all team members are sufficiently skilled, qualified, enabled and motivated to succeed in their roles and to deliver site and Australian manufacturing objectives
3. Identify, develop and drive delivery of continuous improvements in overall operational performance
4. Ensure positive relationships are actively managed with the local community and regulatory authorities / government
5. Ensure performance targets are set and achieved
6. Ensure the operations reliability strategy is actively managed to deliver stable and reliable plant operation
What you’ll bring
To be considered for this position, you will be a degree qualified Engineer and ideally will have manufacturing experience in a senior plant management role. As a people leader, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and motivate your team to achieve their goals.
It would be beneficial for you to be familiar with SAP, as well as the MS Office suite. You should have experience with Manufacturing Excellence models, systems, and processes.
7. You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
8. Engineering Degree qualified (Chemical/ Electrical/ Mechanical) and Advanced Leadership training, or a similar technical discipline with relevant operational experience
9. HSE and Process Safety management, chemical manufacturing of hazardous chemicals – sulphuric acid and steam in particular.
10. Communication and facilitation, employee development, financial and business management, line management, project management, employee relations, industrial relations, manufacturing processes and systems, developing and executing strategic plans, media & crisis management
11. Knowledge required to obtain a statutory Senior Site Executive notice under the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act

The Site
Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
