The Role
An exciting opportunity now exists for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse Educator (SNE) to join the Quality and Education team at Norwest Private Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient safety and risk management in promoting bedside clinical teaching, whilst supporting the Quality and Education teams in achieving the highest standards of clinical care.
Working closely with the Quality, Risk and Education Services Manager, your responsibilities will include planning hospital-wide education and support for clinical and support services staff, coordinating with the hospital education team and the student facilitation team, supporting the Graduate Coordinator with the graduate RN/EN nurse program, and coordinating hospital-wide orientation and mandatory training programs.
You will also be the learning management system site administrator and report area-specific and hospital-wide compliance, participating in continuous quality improvement and hospital accreditation.
As the SNE of Norwest, you will have a minimum of 8 years of clinical nursing experience. You will have at least 12 months of leadership experience and/or current experience in a hospital-wide Nurse Educator role, have or be working towards a qualification in this field.
You will work closely with other members of the team, participating in various committees and working parties, and actively contributing to the Healthscope Education initiatives.
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Recent relevant and extensive experience in Acute Care setting
- Recent education experience in an adult learning environment
- Post registration clinical and education qualification in a specialty area / education / management
- Certificate IV - Workplace Training and Assessment
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed communication (written and verbal), problem solving, managing people, coaching, negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrate ability to coordinate, develop, deliver and evaluate education and training programs using multimodalities
- Understand the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Education evidence/requirements for Short Notice Assessments
