Job Title: Pre-Sales Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pre-sales engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
This is a critical role that requires collaboration with sales teams, providing expert consultation to customers, partners, and internal teams on solution design, creating comprehensive technical proposals, system designs, and drawings, managing technical responses for RFP/RFI tenders, overseeing configuration, testing, and validation of products at customer sites, tradeshows, and events, supporting the Professional Services team and customers throughout implementation, and capturing key insights.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Sales & Solution Design:
o Work closely with sales teams to gather customer requirements and develop tailored system designs and proposals.
o Provide expert consultation to customers, partners, and internal teams on solution design.
2. Technical Documentation & Proposal Management:
o Create comprehensive technical proposals, system designs, and drawings.
o Manage technical responses for RFP/RFI tenders.
3. System Implementation & Support:
o Oversee configuration, testing, and validation of products at customer sites, tradeshows, and events.
o Support the Professional Services team and customers throughout implementation, capturing key insights.
4. Training & Knowledge Sharing:
o Deliver technical training for internal teams, customers, and partners.
o Organize product demonstrations, proof of concepts (PoCs), and solution presentations.
5. Market Intelligence & Representation:
o Represent the company at industry events and customer engagements.
o Monitor market trends and competitive activities, providing strategic insights.
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of combined experience in sales, sales engineering, or pre-sales, with a proven track record in technical sales.
3. Technical Expertise: Demonstrated success in providing technical solutions in a comparable sales role.
4. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Broadcast and Media technology market.
5. Software & Tools: Proficiency in development and CRM tools, particularly Salesforce and Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
6. AUDIO Standards & Technologies: Strong knowledge of digital audio technologies and industry standards, including AES3, AES67, ST 2110, NMOS, and PTP.
7. VIDEO Standards & Technologies: Expertise in video technologies such as SDI, ST 2110, ST 2022-6, NMOS, and PTP.
8. IP Networking: Solid understanding of IP networking technologies and protocols, including TCP, UDP, IGMP, VLAN, and PTP. Certifications from Cisco or Arista are a plus.
9. Additional Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with fibre optic and RF systems is advantageous.
10. Design Tools: Proficiency in CAD design software such as AutoCAD and Visio.
11. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
12. Work Ethic: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, independent work style while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
13. Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
14. Languages: Fluency in English required; additional languages (e.g., German) are an advantage.
