DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Policy Officer to join a high-performing Federal Government team focused on delivering policy reform and improving outcomes within a nationally significant program.

About the Role
Working within a collaborative policy team, you will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy, reform projects and stakeholder engagement activities. You will provide high‐quality policy advice, undertake research and analysis, and support the delivery of initiatives aligned with broader organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and contribute to policy, strategy and reform initiatives.
* Research, analyse and interpret complex information to support decision‐making.
* Prepare policy papers, briefings, reports, presentations and correspondence.
* Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support governance processes and contribute to engagement activities.
* Use data and evidence to develop recommendations and inform policy outcomes.
* Contribute to projects supporting organisational reform and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Experience in policy development, implementation or reform.
* Strong analytical, conceptual and problem‐solving skills.
* Excellent written communication skills, particularly for government audiences.
* Experience preparing briefings, reports, correspondence and policy documents.
* Sound judgement, governance awareness and decision‐making capability.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively while managing competing priorities.
* Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be willing to undertake a National Police Check.
Desirable Experience
* Strategic policy experience within government or a related environment.
* Exposure to legislation, reform programs or commissioning activities.
* Knowledge of the disability sector.
* Understanding of Commonwealth Government processes and procurement frameworks.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
