The Role
We are seeking an Operations Officer to join our WA State Team on a full‑time, permanent basis in our Fremantle office. In this role, you'll support MSC vessel operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant cargo handling and vessel turnaround.
Flexibility is required, as vessel operations may involve weekend work and hours outside the standard office schedule.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
* Liaise with stevedores to ensure all cargo operations are completed safely and efficiently
* Create and lodge reefer manifests for pre‑sail inspections
* Balance import and export containers with OVA and terminal lists
* Lodge and clear customs manifests within statutory timeframes
* Liaise with cargo suppliers, ships' officers and consignees
* Ensure all hazardous cargo procedures are followed (including CHEMLINK requirements)
* Prepare and process operational reports
* Process vessel accounts within credit terms
* Provide support to container control when required
Skills and Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in shipping or logistics (essential)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organisation and time‑management, with the ability to prioritise under pressure
* High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities
* Collaborative, proactive and committed to delivering great service
* Full Australian Driver's License
* MSIC card (or ability to obtain one)
