Job Description
Wabtec's Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back‐of‐office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
You will work collaboratively with internal teams, including software engineers, testing and commissioning, and project managers, to contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Location
The operating sites are located Northside Brisbane to Beerwah, QLD.
How You Will Make a Difference
As a member of Wabtec Control Systems this role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing signaling systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of customer and client rail networks.
Typical Day
* Install, test, and commission signaling equipment including track circuits, point machines, signals, and train control systems.
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the integrity and reliability of signaling infrastructure.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in signaling systems, utilising technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify and rectify issues promptly.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to implement signaling upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical support during commissioning activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
* Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist in the development of training materials and provide mentoring and guidance to client‐side maintenance teams, junior staff and apprentices.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Rail Signaling (Electrical) – Essential
* Electrical Licence – Essential
* Statement of Competency
* Rail Industry Worker Card
* Valid clean driver's licence and willingness to travel to different work sites, including Remote QLD as required.
* Proven experience working in the rail industry, preferably in signaling maintenance, installation and commissioning.
* Strong knowledge of signaling principles, standards and regulations, and relevant rail safety standards.
* Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross‐functional teams to achieve project goals.
* Ability to work under pressure in both office and site environments.
