Overview
Oriental Agriculture Pty Ltd operates a large-scale irrigated and dryland broadacre farming enterprise near Goondiwindi, QLD.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Earthmoving Operator on Laser Levelling, Grader & Excavator Operation to lead field development, desilting, and irrigation works, with a strong focus on bankless irrigation and siphon irrigation systems. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of irrigated field layout and water movement.
When earthworks are not required, the successful applicant will assist with general farm and cropping operations, working as part of a broader farm team.

Key Responsibilities
Earthworks & Irrigation Development (Primary)
* Laser levelling for:
* Bankless irrigation field development
* Siphon irrigation field layouts
* Broadacre cropping fields
* Operating and managing:
* Grader boards / land planes
* Excavators
* Laser levelling buckets
* Drag buckets
* Pull-type scrapers
* Field layout, shaping, and fall accuracy to laser or GPS specifications
* Construction and maintenance of:
* Irrigation bays and bankless layouts
* Channels, head ditches, and drains
* Pads, access tracks, and field infrastructure
* Driving excavators for desilting of water dams, irrigation channels, and drains
* Reading, setting, and maintaining laser and GPS systems
* Daily machine checks, servicing, and preventative maintenance

Farm & Cropping Support (Secondary)
* Assisting with planting, harvesting, and irrigation operations as required
* Operating tractors and other general farm machinery
* Supporting farm maintenance and peak seasonal workloads
* Working collaboratively with cropping and livestock teams

Machinery & Equipment Experience (Highly Regarded)
Experience operating some or all of the following will be looked upon favourably:
* Grader boards / land planes
* Excavators
* Laser levelling buckets
* Drag buckets
* Pull-type scrapers
* GPS-guided tractors
* Front-end loaders
* Small to medium dozers
* Skid steers
* Irrigation infrastructure (gates, siphons, channels, pumps)

Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in laser levelling for bankless irrigation systems
* Proven experience in laser levelling for siphon irrigation fields
* Strong understanding of irrigated field design and water movement
* High attention to detail and pride in accurate field finishes
* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine servicing
* Willingness to assist with general farm duties when required
* Ability to work extended hours during peak development periods
* Current Australian driver's licence required
