Job Title: Support Associate
As a dedicated Support Associate, you will play a pivotal role in empowering clients with disabilities to build skills, confidence, and independence through engaging activities and personalized support.
You will be responsible for delivering tailored assistance to clients, including helping with daily living tasks, fostering independence and skill-building, and establishing positive relationships with clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support to clients with daily living and medical needs as required.
* Foster independence and skill-building through activities such as cooking, crafts, music, sports, and reading.
* Offer in-home and community-based support tailored to individual goals and aspirations.
* Nurture positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families.
* Manage challenges with empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills.
Skill and Qualification Requirements
Essential:
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Able to work resiliently, adaptably, and confidently supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
* Able to prioritize and problem-solve under pressure.
* Flexible availability (shift work, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers).
* Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
* Australian Driver's Licence, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
* Experience supporting high-needs disability clients.
Desirable:
* Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent).
* Understanding of NDIA processes.
* Handy craft skills such as sewing, knitting, or crocheting.
