Support Worker - Youth Services

About the Role
This Casual Support Worker position is part of a team working with young people dealing with alcohol and substance dependence in their recovery journey. We require an individual who can contribute to a safe and secure environment, ensuring each young person receives the guidance and care they need in a 24-hour residential setting.
You will be responsible for building strong relationships with young people by fostering respectful, supportive and confidential relationships. Additionally, you will provide life skills coaching in key areas such as health, personal hygiene, budgeting, home maintenance and healthy relationships.
The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications, experience working with diverse backgrounds, knowledge in relevant areas and crisis intervention skills. You will also conduct exit interviews and co-facilitate program meetings, monitor progress and maintain accurate records including incident reports, daybooks and communication logs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Developing strong relationships with young people based on respect, support and confidentiality.
* Providing life skills coaching in key areas such as health, personal hygiene, budgeting, home maintenance and healthy relationships.
* Ensuring youth-driven programs through regular assessments and monitoring.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including incident reports, daybooks and communication logs.
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant qualifications, experience working with diverse backgrounds, knowledge in relevant areas and crisis intervention skills. You will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and data collection.
Requirements:
* A current and valid Driver's Licence.
* A Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
* A First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
