The Company:
Our client is a tier-one infrastructure developer delivering a large-scale, multi-year infrastructure project of significance. As part of a growing project controls team within the commercial function, they are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to help drive accurate cost forecasting, reporting, and analysis across a major civil works program.
This role is on a
5/2 FIFO (Monday to Friday) roster
flying from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a 2-year fixed-term contract.
For those who are open to relocation to a regional location, a relocation package can be provided.
The Role:
In this client-side role, the Senior Cost Engineer will be responsible for supporting end-to-end cost control across the full lifecycle of a major infrastructure package. You'll work closely with the contractor, cost control manager, and commercial leadership to ensure accurate forecasting, risk identification, and cost reporting throughout delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform earned value and productivity analysis to support delivery confidence
* Collaborate with contractors to ensure cost allocations are accurate and consistent
* Produce detailed cost engineering reports and forecasts
* Support time/work studies and site measures as required
* Identify cost risks and opportunities and communicate these effectively to the broader team
* Maintain strict adherence to project cost control procedures and systems
* Engage with multiple stakeholders, including project controls, commercial, and site teams
Your Background:
* Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or related field
* 8+ years of project controls or cost engineering experience in major construction, infrastructure or mining projects
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in cost management systems
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of forecasting and earned value techniques
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
* Comfortable working in a site-based role within a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
