About First Step First Step is an independent multidisciplinary primary health service providing integrated mental health and substance misuse care in a truly collaborative setting. Our team includes GPs, psychologists, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialist, mental health nurses, care coordinators, abstinence-based program and legal service, working together to support people with complex mental health and psychosocial needs. The Role We are seeking a General Practitioner with a special interest in mental health or Medicare recognised mental health training credentials to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis. This is an opportunity to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care alongside a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, with meaningful clinical work. Minimum qualifications Minimum qualifications· Medical degree (MBBS / equivalent) from an accredited university Current medical registration with the AHPRA Current provider number (or eligibility to obtain one under Medicare arrangements) Current CPR certificate (usually updated within the last 12 months) Highly regarded Familiarity with electronic medical record systems. Additional training or certificates (e.g., drug and alcohol (AOD) training, sexual health, etc.) Experience in support of people with co-occurring needs including substance use Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team including practice nurses, nurse practitioners, mental health clinicians and psycho-social workers
