About the role

As the Scientific Officer (Noise), you will be responsible for providing specialist and technical advice on industrial noise emissions, supporting the assessment and regulation of activities regulated by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

* Undertake detailed analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of noise and vibration studies and investigations.
* Design and undertake monitoring and modelling activities.
* Perform in-depth reviews and evaluations to assess the scientific merit of externally prepared reports.

Our ideal candidate

* Knowledge and expertise in noise impacts (and vibration impacts is desirable).
* Interest in applying and sharing knowledge on noise impacts to support the EPA's assessment and regulatory work.
* Experience in planning field investigations and using and maintaining noise monitoring equipment.
* Keen eye for detail.
* High-level research, analysis, and judgment skills.
