Job Description

MPK is seeking an experienced Planner to join our Estimating team based in Brisbane support Office. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Planner is responsible for project planning and scheduling during the pre‐contract phase of projects. The Planner will support the work‐winning team with project schedules, resource histograms, cash‐flow forecasts, resource analysis, and opportunities for improvement.

Main Duties

* Build and interpret schedules using Primavera (P6), MS Project as core and/or other planning software as alternatives.
* Provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management for all bids across the business.
* Advise and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls (critical path analysis).
* Support programme integration, governance formats, plan optimisation and project control best practices.
* Support and advise on the definition of project controls and earned value management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
* Support the development of integrated master schedules for specific programmes in Primavera and/or Microsoft Project that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors' schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule.
* Monitor and control programme compliance in respect of the project's contractual obligations at pre‐contract stage.
* Ensure that project control processes are consistently applied across the project.
* Manage governance to ensure robust schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across integrated programmes managed across multiple subcontractors and suppliers.
* Support the development of requirements for specific resource‐loaded schedules.
* Participate in estimate and program review meetings.
* Review and implementation of contractual documentation.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

* Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Construction, or relevant experience.
* 3 years+ experience in project controls within a construction environment.
* Proficient user in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
* Excellent skills in MS Excel.
* Positive communicator – email and verbal.
* Can work with multiple teams to handle multiple projects.
* Able to develop and implement processes related to project controls.
* Proactive and value‐add where required.
* Basic understanding of contract models.
