Overview

Hours: 38 Hours, Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays


Responsibilities

* Identify the correct patient to receive radiology or laboratory service, verify physician orders, and post orders to ensure appropriate follow-up.
* Gather and evaluate relevant information and data from patient interviews and/or patient information services.
* Identify variations from expected findings and/or test values.
* Take action when variations are identified.
* Plan for and provide patient teachings.
* Involve family, significant other, and/or friends in patient education when necessary.
* Prioritize requests based on request nature and patient condition.
* Assess and reassess the patient’s condition.
* Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
* Enter radiographic tests using Meditech Computer System.
* Access ordered exams, identify special instructions, and ensure safe test processing.
* Order all radiographic tests via Meditech System for correct billing and accurate results.
* Maintain radiographic files, including film storage jackets, patient file cards, and film release records.
* Keep logs and files related to HUC Laboratory and Radiology Services for compliance, organization, and easy retrieval.
* Conduct warm-up procedures and safety checks on radiographic equipment, reporting concerns to management.
* Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to policies outlined in the Medical Group Manual.
* Operate Urgent Care Radiology Services, ensuring high-quality films and equipment maintenance.
* Maintain adequate supplies for the Laboratory and Radiology Departments.
* Follow image criteria to ensure proper patient positioning and comprehensive views.
* Operate diagnostic equipment to ensure proper image quality.
* Ensure a safe environment, preventing objects harmful to children from being accessible.
* Prevent patient falls, slips, or trips, and make assistive devices available as needed.
* Operate Urgent Care Laboratory Services, ensuring correct lab testing and positive patient experiences.
* Review discordance reports daily and follow protocols for follow-up.


Qualifications


Education

* A graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology with an A.S. in Radiology Technology or equivalent preferred.


Experience

* Previous experience performing Radiology procedures or equivalent experience as determined by department management.


Licenses

* Radiologic Technologists and Technicians license required, obtained through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) and MDPH Radiology License.


Skills

* Quality-focused; excellent interpersonal skills; flexible in achieving multiple tasks; dependable; organized; independent judgment; high technical skills.
* CPR certification required.
