Job Description
We are seeking an experienced producer to lead our news and current affairs team in Hobart. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating engaging content for diverse audiences.
The role will involve leading the production of the daily Statewide Mornings program, creating content that sets the local news agenda, and providing editorial leadership for content makers.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a news and current affairs agenda to engage and grow our Tasmanian audiences
* Lead a small team with positivity, honesty, and the ability to engage in robust conversations
* Collaborate closely with the news room to create content that sets the local news agenda
* Provide editorial leadership, creative guidance, and supervision for content makers
* Produce breaking, exclusive stories from suitable leads from talkback callers, texts, social media, and contacts
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Outstanding relationship building skills with a generous proactive approach to building and cultivating strong, diverse community contacts
* Leadership experience and the ability to lead a small team
* A deep understanding of local and national news and current affairs issues as they affect Tasmanians
* A passion for producing content that represents the diverse local community
