Job Opportunity: Cook
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our culinary team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work 4 hours each Thursday and Friday, preparing fresh and delicious meals for our residents.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve high-quality meals using locally sourced ingredients while minimizing waste and adhering to menu guidelines.
* Efficiently order, receive, and rotate stock, ensuring quality control and compliance with food safety standards.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area, including equipment, surfaces, and floors.
* Work collaboratively with team members, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
* Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures, including audits, chemical handling, and accurate record-keeping.
About You:
* Previous food safety training and a solid understanding of HACCP principles.
* Experience in food preparation and cooking, with strong communication and basic budgeting skills.
* A proactive, respectful, and team-oriented individual who takes feedback well and contributes to a positive work environment.
* Effective time management, responsiveness under pressure, and maintenance of high standards in all tasks.
* Comfortable with physical demands, including lifting, standing for long periods, and safely using kitchen equipment and cleaning products with personal protective equipment (PPE).
