As a Project Manager within our Darwin Program Performance Advisory team, you will play a key role in delivering complex Defence facilities and infrastructure projects. Working as part of a project management consulting team, representing client interests, you will partner with clients, designers and contractors to plan, coordinate and oversee the delivery of projects from inception through to completion. In this role, you will take ownership of multiple projects and work packages, ensuring they are delivered in line with client expectations across scope, time, cost and quality, and operate with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
* Oversee projects supporting Project Directors or Program Leaders delivering infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
* Represent client interests through oversight and coordination of project delivery.
* Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects and work packages.
* Develop and manage project activities and deliverables aligned with PMBOK principles and best practice methodologies.
* Coordinate design, procurement and delivery activities across stakeholders.
* Administer contracts and manage commercial matters on behalf of the client.
* Proactively manage risk, change, cost, schedule and quality outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
* Provide clear reporting on project status, performance and key risks.
* Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
* Work within a structured and supportive team environment.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma in Project Management or a degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Australian Citizenship and eligibility for security clearance (AGSVA requirements apply) and possession of a valid driver's licence.
* Experience delivering infrastructure/capital projects across the full lifecycle (planning to close‐out).
* Application of project management frameworks (e.g. PMBOK) in a practical, outcome‐focused way.
* Ability to manage multiple projects/workstreams, balancing priorities and deadlines.
* Establishment of project governance, reporting and controls.
* Management of budgets, forecasting and cost control; understanding of contracts and procurement.
* Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
* Strong client relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
* Confident communication and facilitation of workshops and meetings.
* Risk and issue identification, assessment and management.
* Maintenance of project controls, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
* Proactive, collaborative work with strong organisational and attention to detail.
* Understanding of engineering/construction processes and ability to translate technical inputs into clear deliverables.
Additional Preferred Experience
* Experience in Defence or government project environments.
* Experience working across the full project lifecycle.
