We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team at a federal government department in Canberra. The Senior Business Analyst willwork with IT project and internal resources, SMEs, business stakeholders and vendors.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Take responsibility for investigating business requirements and specifying effective business processes. Achieve this through improvements in information systems, management practices, procedures, and organisational changes
* Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to conduct investigations for strategy studies, business requirement specifications, and feasibility studies. Prepare business cases that outline potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through new or improved processes, and associated business risks
* Take full responsibility for business analysis within a significant segment of the organisation, where your advice and decisions will have a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the organisation
* Lead the selection of appropriate business analysis methods, tools, and techniques, choosing between plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches
* Determine how technology can contribute to business objectives by defining strategies, validating and justifying business needs, conducting feasibility studies, producing high-level and detailed business models, preparing business cases, and overseeing the development and implementation of solutions. Consider the implications of changes on the organisation and all stakeholders
* Guide senior management towards accepting changes brought about through process and organisational improvements
About You:
* Excellent Microsoft technology experience
* Experience identifying and then prioritising technical and functional requirements
* Strong experience leading requirements workshops and other business engagements as required
* Experience documenting requirements - business, system, functional and non-functional
* Strong capability in identifying business issues that can be improved by increase efficiency and strengthen business processes
* Experience identifying and documenting business process improvements
* Exprience establishing and managing DevOps user stories for project teams
* Experience running scrum meetings and retrospectives
* Experience assisting with business readiness prior to technical and business cutovers
