Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Processing of a combination of fortnightly, monthly payroll and any off-cycle payroll as required, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update/personnel information
- Enter new staff information into the systems, MYOB WFM and MYOB Advanced payroll
- Running standard payroll, leave, and superannuation reports
- Determining payroll liabilities by processing employee wages, workers' compensation, processing parental leave payments
- Resolving payroll discrepancies
- Liaise with managers where necessary for the flow of information
- Payroll processing on a fortnightly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintaining accurate payroll records in the Payroll System, including leave accruals
- Issuing new employment contracts and onboarding process to the new employees
- Assist with any payroll projects
- Great knowledge of PAYG, Super and Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation and various leave types
- Maintain the company's payroll system, including new employees, changes and terminations
- Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Payroll Officer experience. Demonstrated payroll processing and administration experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Excellent knowledge of payroll, payroll legislation, the Fair Work Act, NES, & relevant Award
- Experience in using payroll systems and software to deliver payroll operations and tasks, especially MYOB Payroll System
- Highly numerical with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to keep confidential information, detailed understanding of the Privacy Act
- Good time management skills
- The ability to work well under pressure
**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year
